Even though jet setting around the globe is an idea that fires my heart and imagination, I’ve began to entertain the thought of taking an unconventional approach to “travel” by exploring what my own country, the Philippines, has to offer. A boat man in Palawan told me after I shared him my travel adventures abroad " Bakit ka pa pupunta ng ibang bansa? Maraming magagandang tanawin dito sa pilipinas. Ang iba mas maganda pa sa nakikita mo sa abroad, maam" English translation: Why go abroad? Philippines has so many beautiful destinations. Some of our tourist spots are even more beautiful than what you see overseas." Of course, I don't TOTALLY agree but he summed up perfectly what I’ve began to feel and believe-- that there are so many beautiful parts of this country, some just waiting to be discovered, that I CAN and I MUST explore. I’m lucky to call Philippines my home, and nothing solidified this appreciation more than my recent trip to Coron, Palawan. I've been clicking my camera like crazy! I was speechless. How could I miss this green paradise? It was an eye-opener. The place is just too beautiful. The crystal-clear waters, the lush greenery, the sweet, fresh smell of the breeze, the mystical coves and lagoons-- EVERY SINGLE THING IS AMAZING!
Here are some of the photos I took during the amazing trip to Palawan and I'll let the pictures do the talking..
Whereas in the past few years I’ve been completely consumed by wanderlust and the itch to be anywhere but home, I’ve finally began to explore and re-discover all the scenes and view points that this country has to offer, and for once it feels like the constant longing of wanting to be anywhere but “here” makes me feel happier. And this, I can feel, is the beginning of my island-hopping adventure here in the Philippines.
P.S. I'm still a fashion blogger at heart and fashion is STILL my first love so expect outfit photos once in a while. stay tuned, loves!!!! KISSES!!!
